All six members of the 'next-generation K-pop super band' XH participated in writing and composing all the songs again, showcasing upgraded musicality.
Xtraordinary Heroes debuted in the music scene on December 6, 2021, with their digital single 'Happy Death Day' and then released Mini Album 1 'Hello, world!' and Mini Album 2 'Overload,' capturing the attention of domestic and international listeners with their explosive band sound, refreshing vocals, and flamboyant performance. The charm of full band music realized with rich instrumental sound, along with the story of members establishing their identity within the Xdinary Heroes universe '♭form,' shined their unique presence as the 'next-generation K-pop super band.'
Mini Album 3 'Deadlock' goes beyond the previous work, which depicted the dilemma between being a 'music hero' and a 'villain,' to contain a cry for wanting to be free as 'myself.' It expresses the story of breaking away from the internal conflicts, acknowledging one's evil aspects, and shattering the frames or binary thinking that define oneself as a villain through both music and visual content.
The title song 'Freakin' Bad' features an addictive melody with a prominent 808 bass and intense guitar riffs, intuitively conveying the message of the new album. Especially, the six members, Gunil, Jeongsu, Gaon, O.de, Jun Han, and Juyeon, fearlessly bring out the "quirky Devil living inside me," becoming "the worst guy in a bad world" and potentially sending a warning to someone in the latter part of the song, allowing for various interpretations. O.de, Jun Han, and Juyeon participated in writing and composing the title song, further adding to Xtraordinary Heroes' musical uniqueness.
Besides the title song 'Freakin' Bad,' the Xtraordinary Heroes members also adorned the credits of all seven tracks included in the new album, such as 'Come into my head,' 'Bicycle,' 'checkmate,' 'Good enough,' 'Man in the Box,' and 'Dear H.' Having steadily worked on song production since their debut single, they have created a significantly upgraded work.
Xtraordinary Heroes completed their first solo concert 'Xdinary Heroes Stage ♭: Overture' amidst roaring cheers in December 2022. Standing on the stage they dreamed of and proving their worth as a band, they are set to soar even higher with their first album of 2023, 'Deadlock.'
