Miyeon, the main vocalist of (G)I-DLE, is set to release her first solo album [MY] in April. Recognized for her clear and powerful vocal skills through drama OSTs and features, Miyeon invites listeners into her world with the album [MY].
The debut mini album [MY] plays on the double meaning of Miyeon's initials "MY" and the word "me," making it an album filled entirely with her essence. It encapsulates stories of Miyeon that naturally bring smiles and happiness just by her presence.
Matching the warm spring breeze, the title track 'Drive' illustrates the resolve to stay true to oneself and advance steadfastly despite challenges. It's not only a declaration of a new beginning for solo artist Miyeon but also a message of encouragement for everyone to stand firm through adversities. Lyrics like ‘Turn your back on the grey world and run through this city,’ and ‘I want to cross it my way, for myself’ evoke images of driving freely, escaping all that confines. Miyeon's journey of facing fears and embracing new challenges is endless. Additionally, Miyeon takes on the role of a lyricist for the first time in the song ‘Rain Shower,’ gifted by fellow (G)I-DLE member Yuqi, delicately capturing her unique sentiment.
[MY] comprises a total of six tracks, including the rock genre title song ‘Drive’ with an emotional guitar sound, the rhythmic ‘Rose’, the sweet and playful ‘Softly’, ‘TE AMO’, the experimental rhythm sound of ‘Charging’, and the ballad ‘Rain Shower’ highlighted by a beautiful guitar melody and emotional tune, showcasing Miyeon's diverse emotions and charm.
