LE SSERAFIM, the first girl group from Hybe, will release their debut album 'FEARLESS' on May 2, 2023, unveiling a candid and confident "unprecedented rookie" that promises to stir up the music industry with their unabashed ambition to become the best.
Formed in collaboration between Hybe and Source Music, LE SSERAFIM is a multinational group consisting of six members: Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, Kim Garam, and Hong Eunchae.
The team name 'LE SSERAFIM' is an anagram of 'IM FEARLESS', symbolizing their self-assurance and strong will to move forward without fear or being swayed by the world's gaze. It's a declaration of their intent to capture victory with unyielding elegance and strength.
For LE SSERAFIM, the world's standards are irrelevant. They have chosen the future over the past, ascension over despair. Confidently declaring their aim for the top, LE SSERAFIM is ready to captivate global music fans in 2022 with their music and performances that balance mass appeal and artistic quality.
LE SSERAFIM's debut, supported by Hybe's 'world-class' production team, signals the arrival of a new class of rookies. With the backing of Hybe, the production team for the group's launch is unparalleled. General producer Bang Si-hyuk and former visual creative director for BTS, Kim Sunghyun, among other 'world-class' producers, have come together for this project.
Under the leadership of Bang Si-hyuk, music spanning various genres such as alternative pop, disco-funk, and R&B has been crafted to define LE SSERAFIM's style. Bang Si-hyuk directly participated in creating the title track 'FEARLESS' and the track 'The Great Mermaid', lending his strength to LE SSERAFIM.
Kim Sunghyun, the visual creative director for BTS, oversaw the production of all visual content for LE SSERAFIM, including the group's BI. The member introduction videos were conceptualized like a brand fashion show, depicting the birth of LE SSERAFIM as if models were receiving casting calls and walking the runway. The omnibus-style album trailer artistically portrays the six members' desires to reach the top. Through two concept photo versions, 'Vol.1 BLACK PETROL' and 'Vol.2 BLUE CHYPRE', LE SSERAFIM expresses their boldness to move forward fearlessly and their desire for freedom.
