LE SSERAFIM (Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, Hong Eunchae) have shared their unique stories through two mini-albums released last year, 'FEARLESS' and 'ANTIFRAGILE'. Following 'FEARLESS', which unabashedly expressed their desire to be the best, and 'ANTIFRAGILE', which articulated their resolution to grow stronger and more resilient with each challenge, their first full album 'UNFORGIVEN' adopts the theme of forging their own path regardless of others' judgments. The five members sing about moving forward in the direction the team desires, unbound by the standards set by others.
'UNFORGIVEN' contains a total of 13 tracks, including seven new songs apart from the tracks previously released on their mini-albums. These new songs are organically linked to the message of the title track, adding to the listening pleasure. Moreover, 'world-class' musicians such as the famous American guitarist and producer Nile Rodgers have participated in the song production, underscoring LE SSERAFIM's elevated status.
The fervent anticipation for LE SSERAFIM is also evident in the album's pre-order numbers. The new release surpassed 1.03 million copies in pre-orders within just seven days of its announcement, outdoing the total pre-orders of 620,000 for their previous work 'ANTIFRAGILE'. Following 'ANTIFRAGILE', which reached over 1 million sales in March, there is an expectation for a consecutive million-seller.
The album adopts Viva Magenta, the color of the year announced by the global color authority Pantone, as its representative color. Viva Magenta is a bold and inclusive shade of red inspired by the cochineal dye, which is derived from a rare natural source. The cochineal, despite its vulnerability in nature due to its distinctive red color, perseveres and survives, becoming a valuable entity, mirroring the spirit of LE SSERAFIM.
