BTS's Suga returns as Agust D. On April 21, nearly three years after his mixtape [D-2] released in May 2020, he announced his solo album [D-DAY].
[D-DAY] is filled with 10 hip-hop tracks that are deeply infused with Agust D's color. With this album, Suga completes the Agust D trilogy (a three-part series), following the mixtapes [Agust D] (2016) and [D-2]. Agust D took charge of the lyrics, composition, and production of the entire album, leading the planning, concept, and structure of [D-DAY].
The album features 10 tracks, starting with the title-sharing 'D-Day,' the title track 'Daechwita,' pre-release track 'People Pt.2 (feat. IU)', 'HUH?! (feat. j-hope)', 'AMYGDALA', 'SDL', 'Polar Night', 'Interlude: Dawn', 'Snooze (feat. Ryuichi Sakamoto, Kim Woosung of The Rose)', and 'Life Goes On.'
The core theme of the final story of the Agust D trilogy, [D-DAY], is 'liberation.' It conveys a message to focus solely on 'me' and 'now' in an era overflowing with rapid and vast information. Each song encapsulates the importance of concentrating on the present, without being swayed by regrets about the past or fears of the future, as the most crucial direction in life.
